Responsibilities:
- Set up the kitchen with necessary utensils and equipment.
- Study recipes and gather ingredients.
- Cook food promptly and efficiently.
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff.
- Inform wait staff about daily specials.
- Ensure appealing plate presentation.
- Supervise cooks and assist as needed.
- Modify recipes to meet customer requests.
- Monitor food stock and place orders.
- Check freshness and discard expired items.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Maintain SOPs for products and services.
- Implement and maintain HACCP-based food safety program.
- Exemplify responsible behavior and lead by example.
- Attend required meetings.
- Enforce rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership in motivating kitchen staff to enhance teamwork and collaboration.
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and operation of kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with kitchen staff, management, and cross-functional teams.
- Committed to delivering high-quality meals while ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Proven ability to promptly address and resolve issues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet hospitality industry demands.
Education/Experience:
- A culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized culinary institute is preferred but not essential, with a strong emphasis on practical experience and demonstrated skills.
- Minimum of 2 years in a culinary role, with previous experience as a Restaurant Chef or similar position preferred.
