Position Summary:

The Barback will be responsible for assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently. Their duties include maintaining the bar stocked with wine, beer, spirits, garnishes, ice cubes, and other items needed throughout their shift. The ideal candidate will provide support to the bartending staff, ensuring the bar is well-stocked, and assist in the preparation and serving of beverages. The Barback will play a crucial role in creating a positive customer experience by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stocking: Keep the bar fully stocked at all times.
• Preparation: Prep garnishes, juice citrus, fill trays, and label and date containers.
• Maintenance: Refill ice wells, restock liquor bottles, change out beer kegs, and replenish counter items.
• Cleaning: Maintain clean bar rags, clean counters, glasses, dishes, and furniture, and mop behind the bar.
• Setup & Teardown: Set up and tear down the bar at each shift, restock containers, and put away deliveries.
• Inventory: Track opening or closing liquor inventory.
• Support: Help bartenders with anything they need, including punching orders into the POS system.
• Safety & Security: Relay key information to security and handle trash or recycling.
• Teamwork: Promote and work within the frame of teamwork throughout the Food & Beverage Department.

Qualifications:

• Organization & Energy: Must be organized, energetic, and clean.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills, attentive, and good physical strength.
• Professionalism: Friendly, responsible, punctual, and well-mannered.
• Flexibility: Willing to work overtime, shift holidays, or last-minute banquets.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Composure: Able to work under pressure without losing composure and friendly attitude.
• HACCP Compliance: Must be able to work according to HACCP standards.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally and regularly carry, pull, push, or move objects of the same weight.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Satisfactory experience in a similar position.
• Legal age to serve alcohol.
• Strong knowledge of bar menu items.
