The Rooms Division Director is a key leadership position within our timeshare resort, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the rooms division, including Housekeeping, Front Office, and Owners Services Department, ensuring that all departments function efficiently and effectively.
This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and close coordination with department heads to achieve the resort’s operational goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operations management, with a strong background in housekeeping—a key qualification for this position. Strong leadership abilities and a steadfast commitment to operational excellence are essential. The candidate should also be a high-energy, goal-driven individual with grit and attention to detail. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Oversight: Manage and oversee the Rooms Division daily operations, ensuring all departments are functioning efficiently.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve the division and resort’s goals and objectives.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal performance across all departments.
- Team Leadership: Lead and support Rooms Division department heads, providing guidance and direction to achieve operational excellence.
- Financial Management: Monitor and manage the division’s budget, ensuring monthly financial goals are met. Conduct budget reviews and optimize revenue margins.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as HR, Finance, and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
- Performance Reporting: Provide regular performance reports to the General Manager and Executive Committee.
- Guest Relations: Handle guest complaints and escalations efficiently and effectively, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Staff Development: Train, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve performance goals and support career development.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Hospitality Management: Comprehensive understanding of hospitality management principles, timeshare resort, including guest services, housekeeping, front office operations, and reservations.
- Health and Safety Regulations: Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Revenue Management: Understanding of revenue management principles to optimize room pricing and inventory management.
- Industry Trends: Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments and incorporating them into the rooms division operation.
Skills:
- Leadership & Management: Strong leadership and management skills to lead and manage a team effectively. Ability to delegate responsibilities and provide guidance and direction. High energy individual with grit, a go-getter, goal and detail-oriented, and possess an innovative spirit.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and other departments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle guest complaints and operational issues efficiently.
- Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain high standards.
- Financial Management: Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in hotel management software and reservation systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality management.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure. A commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
