As a Public Area Attendant, you will help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces throughout the resort. You will play a vital role in creating positive first impressions for our guests and supporting a comfortable environment for colleagues and visitors.
About the Role
The Public Area Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of all public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, meeting spaces, pool decks, and outdoor walkways. This role follows established standards and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency while contributing to a respectful and team‑oriented workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and maintain public areas to daily standards, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces and fixtures.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and dispose of waste in designated areas following recycling and waste procedures.
Sanitize and restock public restrooms, ensuring supplies are replenished and fixtures are functioning properly.
Maintain outdoor and pool deck areas by removing debris, wiping furniture, and attending to guest seating and umbrellas as needed.
Report maintenance issues, broken fixtures, and safety hazards to Supervisors or Engineering for timely resolution.
Set up and break down meeting rooms and public event spaces according to specifications, assist with furniture moving and basic layout changes.
Follow chemical handling and safety procedures, using PPE as required and adhering to SDS guidelines.
Provide friendly, professional assistance to guests and staff when interacting in public areas; escalate requests to the appropriate department.
Support team members during peak periods and participate in deep‑clean projects and periodic inventories of cleaning supplies.
Education & Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance is an advantage.
Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment (vacuum, floor machines), and safe work practices preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks reliably.
Skills & Abilities
Detail‑oriented with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and lift up to company‑specified weights.
Team player with courteous communication skills and a positive, guest‑focused attitude.
Flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
